Belvedere were defeated by Butleigh with just two balls to spare in a thrilling cup final at the County Ground, Taunton.
Belvedere set a challenging target of 130-6, recovering from the loss of three early wickets in the opening 5 overs. Gary Gullick (32), Dave Taylor (27 not out) and Andy Loud (35 not out) were the major run contributers.
Butleigh chased down the total with two balls left for the loss of only one wicket, taken by the ginger love god Mike Broadhead courtesy of a fine catch by Taylor.
Despite the loss an enjoyable day was had by players and (many) supporters alike. A big thank you to all club members and famililes/friends who came along to provide support. |
